About me

Hi, I'm Stefan: creator, writer, lifelong learner and host of Journey of Ideas.

I hold a BA in Social Work and an MA in Theology & Religious Studies from Tilburg University. My academic background has always revolved around the big life questions: What’s the point of all this? Why do we suffer? Why do people act as they do? What does it mean to live well?

Over the years, I’ve deepened my understanding of philosophy and religion through extensive reading, lots of travel & personal experiences, and continued study. I’ve written several books that treat philosophy as a way of life, not just theory.

I’m the voice behind the YouTube channel Einzelgänger, which explored timeless wisdom and philosophy for over half a decade.

Journey of Ideas (powered by Einzelgänger) is something entirely different. It’s deeper, slower, more reflective, and largely follows a chronological timeline. It’s a long, open-ended ‘adventure’ that starts at the dawn of philosophy.

Together we’ll explore the questions and ideas that shaped how we see the world. We’re not in it for quick answers; we’ll be taking our time to wonder, to question, and to understand.

Thank you for joining me on this path.
